Where to Play: Pickleball Courts in Largo

Highland Recreation Complex

Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Avenue, Largo, FL 33770, hosts indoor pickleball seven days a week. Current play runs Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Saturday from 7 to 9 a.m.; and Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Paddles and balls are available.

Southwest Recreation Complex

Southwest Recreation Complex is at 13120 Vonn Road, Largo, FL 33774. Indoor pickleball runs Monday from 8:15 to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Since September 1, the city drop-in price has been $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers. Paddles and balls are available here as well.

The city sessions are scheduled indoor drop-in play, not all-day court access. Use the Largo athletics programs page before each visit because hours can shift with recreation programming.

Pickle and Pint

Pickle and Pint, 13200 South Belcher Road, Largo, FL 33773, has 12 indoor air-conditioned courts, private reservations, leagues, classes, drop-ins, a pro shop, food and beverages, and social space. Level-based open play costs $10 for a two-hour non-peak session or $15 during peak hours. Capacity is limited, so reserve through the live calendar rather than arriving without a place.

Dink House Pickleball

Dink House, 8116 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33771, has four indoor courts in a 10,400-square-foot club with a performance gym, sauna, and cold plunge. No membership is required for scheduled open play. A two-hour visit costs $9.99 and a four-hour visit costs $14.99. Members receive broader access, while drop-in guests must use designated open-play times.

Bardmoor YMCA

The Bardmoor YMCA at 8495 Bryan Dairy Road, Largo, FL 33777, offers co-ed adult drop-in pickleball for ages 16 and older. Play is included with YMCA membership and is not a public day-drop-in program. Use the YMCA adult pickleball page to open the current schedule and select Adult Pickleball for Bardmoor.

Pickleball Lessons in Largo

New players should start with group pickleball lessons at Southwest Recreation Complex. Coach Roger's sessions meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. and cover serves, returns, dinking, volleys, court positioning, and basic strategy through drills and guided games. The drop-in rate is $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers. This is the most concrete public beginner route because it combines instruction with the same facility's recurring indoor play.

Southwest also offers private lessons on Thursdays from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m. by appointment. Thirty-minute lessons cost $25 and one-hour lessons cost $48. Private instruction is useful for a first-time player who wants individual help before entering drop-in games.

Pickle and Pint runs classes and clinics, while Dink House offers one-on-one lessons for $60 per hour. Compare the live calendars by level and date. Players seeking another local instructor can use the Coaches section and confirm the court, fee, and equipment before booking.

Largo Pickleball Open Play, Leagues, and Tournaments

Pickle and Pint provides the broadest organized-play menu, including beginner, advanced-beginner, low-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate, advanced, and 4.0-plus open play. Each session limits capacity and rotates players with others near the same level. The club also offers leagues, classes, tournaments, socials, and DUPR play on Thursdays. Use the level-based open-play page to choose the appropriate session and enter the live booking system.

Dink House runs designated drop-in and open-play blocks for visitors as well as unlimited open play for members. Purchase the two-hour or four-hour option through its current schedule. The club also hosts leagues, tournaments, and member events when listed, but the active calendar is the deciding source; a membership description is not a schedule.

Highland and Southwest supply recurring municipal play on most days of the week, and Bardmoor YMCA provides member drop-in sessions. These are useful organized options even when no tournament is taking place. Additional local announcements can appear through the club links and announcements.

Planning a Largo Pickleball Visit

A solo visitor should register for level-based open play at Pickle and Pint. The scheduled rotation, limited capacity, and skill categories give a traveler a practical route into games without arriving with three partners. Choose the correct level, reserve through the live calendar, and allow time to check in. Call 727-736-1228 if you need help selecting a session.

Dink House is the other simple no-membership route. Buy a $9.99 two-hour or $14.99 four-hour open-play visit and select a designated session. Call 727-612-3595 if the schedule or access instructions are unclear. Both private clubs are indoor and climate controlled, making them dependable choices during heat, rain, or windy Gulf Coast weather.

Budget-minded visitors can use Highland or Southwest recreation complex during the published city drop-in hours. Southwest charges $10 for nonmembers under the current rate, and equipment is available. Check the athletics page before leaving because municipal gym times can change. YMCA members can also use Bardmoor's adult drop-in schedule.

A group wanting private court time should reserve at Pickle and Pint or Dink House. For most solo trips, use an organized open-play session; for a first lesson, use Southwest; and for frequent low-cost play, compare the two city recreation schedules.
